Smith Exhibits Photography
Edwin Smith exhibits his photography in the Geraldine Hirsch Room during the months of September and October. The exhibit may be viewed anytime during library open hours that the room is not occupied.
Adult Summer Reading Club
The Adult Summer Reading Club continues through Saturday, September 11. Be sure to hand in your log sheet by that date for a chance in the prize drawing.
Getting Started With PowerPoint
Tuesday, September 14 from 6:30-8:30 p.m., a program designed to help you create a Microsoft Powerpoint slide show will be presented in the library's computer lab. Registration is required. Sign up online at capelibrary.org or call the Information Desk at 334-5279, ext. 113 or 121.
Basic Internet Training
Tuesday, September 21 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. a Basic Internet Training will be held in the library's computer lab. Learn more efficient ways to use the mouse, keyboard and search the internet. Registration is required by Monday, September 20. Call the Information Desk at 334-5279, ext. 113 or 121.
Jerry Ford Author Program and Book Signing
Thursday, September 23 at 2:00 p.m., Jerry Ford, local author of The Gordonville Grove : Stories of Tombstones, Tambourines and Tammany Hall, will give a program and sign copies of his book. Ford's book contains stories from his time as a state legislator, funeral director and musician. No registration required. Free and open to the public. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Library Foundation.
Monday Night Book Club
The Monday Night Book Club will meet on Monday, September 27 at 7:00 p.m. in the Penzel Conference Room. The title for discussion is the best selling thriller The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson. If you need aid in securing a book come by the Information Desk for assistance. No registration required. Free and open to the public.
Personal Finance-Investments and Scams
Michael English with the Missouri Council on Economic Education will give a program about personal finance Thursday, September 30 at 7:00 p.m. in the Geraldine Hirsch Community Room. The main focus of the program is providing information on different types of investments and how to avoid becoming the victim of a scam. This program will contain valuable information for adults of all ages. Free and open to the public. No registration needed.
