What is Summer Reading?
You may know that Summer Reading at the Cape Girardeau Public Library is a great way to encourage kids to continue reading while school is out for the summer. That's true...but it's so much more!
We've also got tons of events for all ages, reading challenges for all skill levels, and...did we mention prizes? Summer Reading is for EVERYONE!

There are two ways to participate:
- Pick up paper reading logs at either the Adult Services or Youth Services desks, OR...

Graphic novels aid in reading comprehension through strong vocabulary and exciting plots, they are visually engaging with detailed illustrations, and most importantly: readers love them!

Mindful Movement with Maggie (ages 2-5)
Join youth-certified yoga instructor, Maggie Salem, for a half hour of toddler mindful movement. Yoga mats will be provided.
