Read Around the World: Kids Edition

Posted on:

This year, the theme of our Summer Reading Program is ADVENTURE! There is no easier way to adventure anywhere, anytime, in the world than through books. We've compiled a list of children's fiction books that take place in countries around the world. You might interact with magical creatures from Indigenous folklore in Canada (The Barren Ground), head south to meet Pedro and experience the road trip of a lifetime through Mexico (Mexikid), cross the ocean to work in a Barcelona Bakery with Alba (All You Knead is Love), or travel to Japan to discover the secrets of a ghost girl and a mysterious temple (Temple Alley Summer). Whatever books you pick, you are sure to experience an awesome story while also learning about a new country and its culture.

Most of these titles can be checked out directly from Cape Public Library, while some can be ordered through Missouri Evergreen.
