Happy August, readers! Summer Reading might be over and done with for another year, but here at the Cape Girardeau Public Library, we offer a thousand different ways, reasons, and excuses to keep the reading flowing and going. For example, did you know that August is Romance Awareness Month?

Hello, readers! Today is July 31st - do you know what that means? Yes, it does mean that our summer reading program for 2024 is coming to a close, but I am talking about it being Harry Potter’s birthday!

Okay, okay. I know it's not time for spooky things yet. But we all need a distraction from this July heat, so why not take yet another personality quiz? So forget about everything else for a minute and discover what otherworldly vibes you bring to the summer cookout!

When I think of “adventure,” the first thing that comes to mind is travel. This summer we are offering a number of FREE travel-themed programs for adults, as well as some on-going travel-themed activities that you can enjoy throughout the summer.

Back in March, the Cape Girardeau Public Library was awarded an LSTA grant by the Missouri State Library to fund the purchase of Memory  kits for adults with the focus of strengthening memory and cognitive functions.

CGPL's back at it again with another summer full of fun reading, games, and events! This year's Summer Reading theme is Adventure Begins At Your Library.
